God didn't promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, sun without rain, but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the way.

24 wks

I am 24 weeks today- 6 month along. I am so happy someday it still feel like I am dreaming and other it is so real with being pg. Only 12 more weeks and I get to meet this little miracle of mine. I still get the look, like is she fat or is she pregnant. I know that normally the first pg for some that it take a while before you really start showing. Two people told me in that some day after my appt as I was out and about that I didn't look 23 weeks along. I said yippees I am, one said I would have not guessed that, she said that well you look good for being that for along. I can't wait until I get bigger and start waddling, I love being pregnant. I still listen to Noah every night, I love listening to his little heart beating, but he doesn;t like it, after a few minutes he kicks at it. I love this little boy already. I can't wait to hold him in my arms. I love feeling him wiggle around and kick in there.
I had a doctor appt this past week a week early do to the scare last weekend. I will post more on how that went . It all is good, we just have a plan in place that is all will explain more in another post.

24 Weeks Development:
My Baby
The unsung hero of the fetal support system is the umbilical cord, which forms a vital link between the fetus and the placenta. The cord contains two arteries and one large vein; by birth, it may measure up to four feet long. Every 30 seconds, nutrients and oxygen-rich blood are transported from the placenta to the fetus via the single vein, then back again to the placenta through the two arteries. This ingenious method ensures a constant supply of filtered air and nutrients, and keeps the mother's blood separate from the baby's.

How your baby's growing:Your baby's growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts him at just over a pound. Since he's almost a foot long (picture an ear of corn), he cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but his body is filling out proportionally and he'll soon start to plump up. His brain is also growing quickly now, and his taste buds are continuing to develop. His lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help his air sacs inflate once he hits the outside world. His skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon.
