God didn't promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, sun without rain, but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the way.

13 wks old and Update From the Baker World.

Noah is now 13 wks old were has the time gone. Sorry that I have been MIA for the past two weeks. Things have been alittle busy and hectic. There is just not much time to blog when you work and have a 3 month old. Plus I just had surgery on Monday, I will get to that later.

Noah is growing so fast, last year at this time I would not have thought that I would have a little one to share the holidays with besides my husband and extended family. God has sure blessed us Noah and he is a sweet and fun little one to have around. He is holding his head up well and smiling and laughing all the time as long as he is feed and changed he is a happy camper for the most part. He loves to be talked to and he loves watching the dog run around in the house. He is holding a rattle now, and standing on his strong little legs as you hold him up.

He is eating well he is weighing in at 12lbs and 14 oz as of today. He had to go the the Dr today he has a rash that has just gotten worse and it was all over the back of his head and on his forehead and cheeks raised on spots, and was diagnosed as dry skin and cradle cap. So we have some medication from the Dr for that all.
Over the past 3 weeks, I have had to start supplementing some with formula, he was not getting satisfied, plus my milk supply as gone done some since I have been back to work, so I have been mixing half breast milk and half formula and he seems to be doing okay with it. He prefers me over the formula most of the time, I try to breast feed him when I can and I am available to. Has anyone else that has breastfeed and gone back to work experience their supply decreasing some as well and if so how do you increase it again?

Noah 1st thanksgiving was good, we had a great time with my parents on Thanksgivings Day and we came home, and about 1030 that night I was holding Noah and I got this pain in my stomach and upper back that was untolerable, so I told Carter that I was going to go to the Er to get it checked out. So I was there until about 1:30 in the am they ran some tests and everything came back normal. I called my mom to come up and take care of Noah, I was so drug with meds that I was not able to function, plus I was still in pain. So I was told to call and schedule an ultrasound for Friday am to rule out the gallbladder. So I went in for the ultrasound friday morning and I waited for the results there. Well it was as they thought the gallbladder, I had gallstones the size of quaters in there many of them. So I was in pain all weekend, Called and got an appt with a Dr Monday am and they scheduled me for surgery that afternoon. So I had my gallbladder out monday afternoon and starting to feel better, now just healing from the surgery.
My mom and mother-in-law came up on different days to help me and take care of Noah, since Carter had to work. My mom stayed Monday night and tuesday day and then Carters mom came up tuesday night until today and helped with Noah and cleaning. thank goodness for family.
So that is what is going on in the Baker house hold, sorry for such a long post. I hope that everyone is doing well in the blogging world, and I promise I will get caught up on everyone soon.

It is hard to be back a work and keep breastfeeding. Feed him from you as much as possible and I had to pump even through the days I didn't work to help keep up the supply. i start saving milk from the beginning to get a head start on a good supply for when I return to work. Hang in there.

I love all the pics of Noah! Quintin is such a happy boy too!

About BFing and working - I have had my ups and downs too. I started supplementing with rice cereal in his bottles to fill him up longer and esp. when the supply in the freezer got low. Unfortunately - the cereal made him gassy and he had terrible "explosions" a few days after he drank it.

All my body knows is pumping every 2 hours when I am at work so I do it. For example: today I have 2 6oz bottles to leave with dad. I also nurse right before I leave for work and as soon as I get home. It seems to work for us.
